Michelle May is a board-certified Registered Dietitian Nutritionist practicing in Coastal Georgia.
After struggling with body image and weight maintenance as a young adult she has always found true passion behind helping others improve their quality of life.
As a dietitian, Michelle finds joy in aiding and educating those that are willing to make changes and set goals to become the best versions of themselves.
Michelle has 6 years’ experience as a Registered Dietitian in a variety of settings that include: Bariatrics, Weight loss counseling, Medical nutrition therapy, Critical care nutrition, Food service management, Nutrition & aging long-term care
Over the years, Michelle has helped clients with a wide range of nutritional needs to improve their physical and mental health while making positive lifelong eating and exercise behavior changes.
Through medical nutrition therapy she has been able to improve the lives of those living with diabetes, cardiovascular, renal, hepatic, and GI diseases.
A dietitian is an expert in human nutrition and the regulation of diet. Dietitians have the ability and are trained in altering their patient's nutrition based upon their medical condition and individual needs. Dietitians are regulated healthcare professionals licensed to assess, diagnose, and treat a wide variety of nutritional problems.
Trained in completing NFPE’s (nutrition-focused physical exams). NFPE’s assess patients for muscle, fat loss, vitamin/mineral deficiencies and can potentially lead to a diagnosis of malnutrition.
Education and Training
Completed a Bachelor of Science with emphasis of Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga.
Completed a Master of Science with emphasis on Family and Consumer Sciences at Lamar University.
Completed a 1500-hour dietetic internship through Lamar University.
