About Beekman 1802

Josh Kilmer-Purcell and Brent Ridge (1) purchased the historic Beekman 1802 Farm. In 2008 both men lost their jobs when the recession hit and had to find a way to continue paying their mortgage or risk foreclosure. Not long after this, they took in a neighboring farmer and his goats. Through this, they started producing soaps and cheese.

Kilmer-Burcell and Ridge then created a website and Mercantile. Partnering with other local farmers, they were able to make additional products that gained in popularity. It wasn’t long before the press noticed the town and launched a reality show. Now 12 years later this company has exploded in popularity and offers a wide range of products. Each of the products contains goat milk and is suitable for all skin types.
